You Can't Wait Millions Of Years!

While standing outside the Patricia Huffman Smith Remembering Columbia Museum in Hemphill on Tuesday, I notice the block of rock with the scripture on it.
The scripture is Joshua 1:6-9; the rock is a piece of glauconite.
I made a comment to someone about it being the same material that is used for put on dirt roads around the area.
I was informed, and already knew, about the numerous quarries around the area.
“Do you know what it is made out of?” I was asked.
“Well,” I replied “I’ve always heard that it is whale dung.”
“That’s exactly right!”
I answered back, “What were the whales doing so far inland?”
I was informed that the area was all water millions and millions of years ago.
I kept my mouth shut; it wasn’t the time or place for a debate.
But I disagree!
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. Gen 1:1-5
Did you know that the Hebrew word for “day” used in the creation account in Genesis is the same word used throughout the rest of the Old Testament, from Genesis to Malachi.
That word denotes a period of time from sunset to sunset and that meaning never changes throughout the scripture.
I believe it is a relatively young planet and want to show you why I believe that from God’s word.
I’ll begin with the next Morning Thought; you just can’t wait a million years to know this.
