Where's The Million?

Millions and millions of years old earth?
That’s all you’ll hear when you watch those documentary channels on TV but I disagree and I use God’s word to do it.
Genesis contains the account of the creation, which took 6 days to complete.
Yesterday I talked about the fact that a day in Genesis is the same as a day in Malachi; it doesn’t change meaning.
Using Adam as a base it is written Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. Gen 5:3
For the sake of argument, let’s just call the year Adam was created as year 0.
In that case Seth is born in 130.
Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh. Gen 5:6 The year is 235.
9 Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan. The year is 325.
12 Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel. Year 395
15 Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared. Year 460
18 Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch. Year 622
21 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. Year 687
25 Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech. Year 874
28 Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. Year 1056
32 And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Gen 7:11-12
The flood came 1656 after the creation of Adam.
Gen 11
10This is the genealogy of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood. Year 1658 making Shem born in 1558.
12 Arphaxad lived thirty-five years, and begot Salah. Year 1693
14 Salah lived thirty years, and begot Eber. Year 1723
16 Eber lived thirty-four years, and begot Peleg. Year 1757
18 Peleg lived thirty years, and begot Reu. Year 1787
20 Reu lived thirty-two years, and begot Serug. Year 1819
22 Serug lived thirty years, and begot Nahor. Year 1849
24 Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and begot Terah. Year 1878
26 Now Terah lived seventy years, and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Born after 1948
Gen 21:5
Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Year at least 2048
Gen 25:20
Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife Year at least 2088
Gen 25:26
Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. Year at least 2148
Gen 47:28
So the length of Jacob’s life was one hundred and forty-seven years. Year at least 2295 when Jacob dies in Egypt.
Ex 12:40
Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. Year at least 2725.

1 Kings 6:1
And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
So Solomon’s 4th year was 480 years after the Israelites left Egypt.
That would put it 3205 years after the creation of Adam.
Many believe that Solomon reigned in the 900-1000 B. C. range.
I’m not going to go any further.
It’s sufficient to state here that we haven’t seen 1,000,000 years added up anywhere in this account.

It’s a lot of numbers to deal with and I am not immune to mistakes with my addition. If you see one or have a thought, please let me know.

  1. AMEN used to be “nonsence” such as the age of the world being 1-plus millions. There is very little fear of the Lord in the world today. More fragmented knowledge no dought for those itchy ears.
