I was speaking with someone a few days ago that told me she had been to a speaking engagement; Bible teaching in church.
She suffers some pain in her legs and cannot stand for too long.
She told me that she didn’t know how she was going to be able to stand and minister the word; but she did.
She felt no pain, discomfort, or fatigue as she shared from the Bible.
I know just what she experienced.
Many times I have arrived at church feeling terrible; headache, fever, nausea, or sinus.
I have stood behind the pulpit and been refreshed by the Holy Spirit.
I felt His strength in me allowing me to endure the misery in order to minister.
I have come to discover that there is nothing more healing to the body and soul than God’s word.
The Psalmist wrote, “He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.” Ps 107:20
God’s word is a healing word.
Though I may go home after preaching, collapse on the bed, and sleep 3 hours; during the service I am healed and energized.
If only I would dwell in His word continually and be healed continually.
I recall the story of a man that felt himself to be such a sinner that his house wasn’t fit for the Lord Jesus; yet he had a sick servant and sought Jesus to heal him.
He knew the power of God’s word; But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. Matt 8:8
I believe the same, speak His word and be healed!
The Spirit of God moves and settles like the wind. He chooses who, when ,and where healing or resseraction take place. We are to have faith enough to ask for it and leave it in His hands. Every time I get sick, some where in there I learn something about my self, and my relationship with God. The dentist found new fillings (I can’t explain them). a short time latter an old fill broke out. I’m still waiting for Father to fill it. His timing, His way!
