Yesterday Linda and I went with our oldest, Lindsey, to her doctors appointment.
She and hubby, Jeff, are expecting their first child in December.
Yesterday was sonogram day.
I am not a doctor or a scientist; I’m just an ol’ ignorant country preacher but I swear I could see a hand, feet, arms and legs.
I recognized the head, mouth, and where the eyes are.
Though I have no degree in anatomy or physiology, I easily recognized the beating heart.
The little guy kept moving around and over the weekend, even without the sonogram, I felt him move.
But what do I know?
I am not studied in the ways of human growth.
Had I been I would have learned that this is not a baby, but simply a glob of tissue.
I would have been taught that what I saw has no life in it.
I would have been taught that it is not alive until it takes a breath.
I would have been taught that this individual that has taken up residence inside this woman is part of her and if she does not want it, she can make that choice.
Yep, I sure am stupid and ignorant for not being taught these things.
How come, out of all creation, humans are the only ones that lay claim to all these brilliant conclusions?
I’ve been on the farm long enough to know that cats, dogs, and cows seem to do what God created them to do; give birth to live young that resemble the parents.
You don’t see cats, dogs, and cows going to the doctor for abortion; they do what God created them to do.
Poor dumb ignorant animals; they don’t know any more than I do!
Paul said, “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace…” Gal 1:15
David said, “But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.” Ps 22:9-10
I have discovered that the ignorant ones are those that propagate lines like “it’s a glob of tissue”, “it’s not a baby”, and “it’s a choice!”
If you have a pregnancy help center in your area that is in need of a sonogram to help women keep their babies – support them in this effort.
Women that see the truth of a sonogram will often turn away from the lie of abortion!
