Pick Up A Load Of Kindness

Give generously, for your gifts will return to you later. Eccl 11:1 NLT
Sunday morning, Michael, a friend of mine wrote on Facebook that he had to make a delivery to Ennis, Tx.
Linda and I found a kolache shop in Ennis a few years ago and when we are taking I-45 towards Dallas, we always stop and load up.
I was just joking with him and commented about picking up some kolaches.
He private messaged me and asked the name of the place, location, and what kind I wanted.
I told him I was just joking; but cherry and poppy seed would be nice.
He actually got the big 18-wheeler in to the parking lot and picked up a dozen.
And since he lives in Lufkin, Linda and I picked them up later in the afternoon.
The topper is he wouldn’t let me pay for them, though I was actually prepared to give him something extra for doing it!
I thought the whole thing was super nice of him.
I know he didn’t do it to get something in return.
In fact this is what he wrote to one of his Facebook friends: Before today, I’ve only met Tim once, Oct 2009. But I listen to him daily on KSWP, and follow him on FB. He’s a great guy 🙂
That’ll make a guy blush!
Our scripture talks about your gifts coming back to you.
I believe he will be blessed because of his kindness to me.
I may not be the one to bless him either; it may be someone completely different.
And I could, in turn, bless someone else and be blessed by someone else.
Of course it is God that blesses in all things.
And if a truck driver from Lufkin brings me some kolaches, I will praise God and pray His blessings on my friend!
As it is written give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38
