I remember the good things!

Nearly everyone remembers where they were when it happened; when terrorists flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Disasters and catastrophes have that affect on us.
Space shuttles Columbia and Challenger; the assassination of President Kennedy or the attack on Pearl Harbor are all embedded into the memories of those old enough to have witnessed the events.
But it’s not just the bad things that happen; the extraordinarily disastrous things but also those wonderfully good moments, the great times, and life changing events.
I remember the day of my wedding; I remember shaking in my knees and being comforted when Linda arrived next to me and the Baby’s Breath in her bouquet was also shaking.
The birth of both my children was a great, life-changing moment.
I was no longer just Tim, I was dad!
There was another event I remember in my life. This one eclipses the rest.
It is January 15, 1975, the day I accepted Jesus as my Savior.
I remember the day of my water baptism; December 7, 1975.
It’s important to remember those God moments in your life.
The people of Israel were told the same thing; You must remember this day forever. Each year you will celebrate it as a special festival to the LORD. Ex 12:14 NLT
But they forgot and slowly drifted away from God.
God also told them, “But I assure you of this: If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods, worshiping and bowing down to them, you will certainly be destroyed. Just as the LORD has destroyed other nations in your path, you also will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God.” Deut 8:19-20
Disaster after disaster has plagued them.
It seems our nation has fallen into the same path; we have turned aside from God; we have tried to wipe any memory of Him from our history, removed Him from our schools, and have ignored His precepts and statutes for us.
Our nation needs to heed His words from 2 Chronicles 7:14, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

  1. I am Vicki Wade’s aunt Virgie and I just want you to know how much todays devotional meant to me because of its truth. The world needs to know that God is certainly a loving, forgiving God and at the same time a very just and righteous God. I lift my voice and hands in praise to a merciful God from whom all blessings flow. Praise His mighty name!
Thank you for sharing the Word each and every day. God bless you and your family and ministry.
