You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous — and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Ps 139:13-16 NLT
Before I was born the doctor told my mom and dad I was going to be a girl; but then that was an “educated” guess based on my heartbeat.
However, God knew all about me.
Now there are a variety of tests one can take to determine the gender of the baby before birth but none of those test can determine the personality, talents, hopes, dreams, and goals.
When I was born my parents did not look at me and say, “Oh, look! A baby geocache-loving, guitar playing, photograph taking, minister on the radio that loves to joke around and will have a wonderful wife, children, and grandchildren!”
No, they never said that because they didn’t know.
But God knew all about me!
I may not preach like Billy Graham, Tony Evans, or Chuck Swindoll.
I can’t play the guitar like Van Halen, Slash, or Jimmy Page.
I’m not a professional photographer or the best DJ you’ll ever hear.
I am who I am and that’s all I can be.
God created me in His own image and set me on my way.
I was on the way of destruction and depravity.
Along that way I discovered that I still need Him and I am who I am because of Him.
All by myself I was on the way of destruction; with Him I on my way to life.
You, too, must be who you are but become a better you through Jesus.
If you’re life is turmoil; if you are unhappy, depressed, with no purpose then accept Jesus as your Savior and seek to live for Him.
You’ll find it very rewarding and satisfying.
Even those babies born not “normal”. They are to draw out the best of us. What a shame there aren’t more of us.
