Thrown Away!

What part of the Bible have we thrown away?
You may be saying, “None of it!” but that would be wrong.
For instance it says in the Bible these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deut 6:6-9
But adults don’t worry about God’s word except on Sunday; and so the children are raised with the same belief.
We’ve allowed God to be removed from our schools, a great portion of public society while allowing anti-God ideas enter our home through TV, radio, and books.
It would seem that has been thrown away!
Then there are those that say they are Christian but are living contrary to what a Spirit filled, born-again believer should live.
It is written that the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; Gal 5:19-21
If you or someone you know “practice” such things, that is, perform repeatedly or habitually will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:21
But with so many “Christians” habitually doing these things it would seem as if they have thrown away that part of the Bible.
It goes on to give us instruction on how to live; the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Gal 5:22-24
Produce fruit of the Spirit?
Crucify the flesh and its passions?
That’s been thrown out.
I could keep going but it is enough to say we need to get back to the basics of God’s word.
What are the basics?
That’s easy to find out for yourself; it’s written between Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 22:21!

  1. It is true that we live lives pleasing to God by the power of HIS Spirit. In order to have that power we have to obey what’s written between Gen. – Rev.. That obedance requires surrender, submission & repentance. That all equals being “humble”. Obedance brings about results my strengths could not. I’d rather people think me strange than to be an offence to my Lord. How aweful it is for the body of Christ when the weaker ones are offended by a more muture one. They don’t realize what it has taken to get there. Some just have to go around the mountian again. Gracious Lord have mercy on us all.
