Agreement

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3
What do you believe the Bible says about losing your salvation, apathy, and backsliding?
Now those topics could spark some debates but I had a great conversation with someone the other day about those very topics.
Why was it such a great discussion?
Because we agreed with each other on what the Bible said about the same topics.
Agreeing is what binds like-minded people together.
You vote for a certain person or political party because you agree with their position on certain things that interest you.
We bind together in friendship, social circles, clubs, and church because we agree with others on most things.
There is a verse about agreement from Matt 18:19-20; “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Agreement will make your Christian relationships better; especially if that agreement is bound by what God says.
And that’s the catch; you must agree with what God believes for your relationship with Him to flourish.
There is another scripture that many claim and goes along with the previous; whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14
If you’re going to ask in Jesus’ name then you need to agree with what Jesus’ says, hence the next verse; If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15
That is the agreement you will have with Him – following His commandments.
How do you know what His commandments are?
You find a pastor/teacher/church that is in agreement with God’s word, that is, teaching the Word and join them and learn with them.

  1. I told a young lady, that profess’ Christ as saviour, that every word we speak every action taken or not taken we will have to give an answer to Jesus for it. She was shocked! I asked if she had access to a Bible…yes, I asked if there’s a church close that she could attend…yes. Jesus will ask why didn’t you know My will for your life? She boiled down her answer & was shocked…”I didn’t want to!” Mostly because she would have had to put some effort into it. She likes learning about how Jesus loves her, but does not understand that she can not live any which way she wants. Nor that she does not belong to her self. The real shocker…God has a plan for her life.
