You can’t stop God!

A board of county commissioners in North Carolina can no longer pray in Jesus’ name!
For years, the board has extended an open invitation to religious leaders from the community to volunteer a prayer before its twice-monthly meetings, asking only that the invocations would not be an effort to proselytize or belittle other faith or belief.
But a pair of local citizens that attended the meetings regularly and were bothered by the frequent mentions of Jesus in the prayers.
After the pair sat through yet another Christian prayer, this one including references to “the Cross of Calvary” and the “Virgin Birth,” they sued the board of commissioners with help from the ACLU and Americans United for Separation of Church and State.
A judge in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals wrote a majority opinion that legislative invocations offered in Jesus’ name are inherently “sectarian” and thus should be censored lest they make some attendees feel “uncomfortable, unwelcome and unwilling to participate in … public affairs.”
The commissioner’s court is appealing the ruling.
It is written in God’s word about a future event – And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Rev 20:4
Will the ACLU, Americans United, Islamic extremists, atheist, agnostics, and anyone that despises God, continue to seek to remove Him.
Yes!
When the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. Rev 20:7-9
It doesn’t work!
As a Christian I am disappointed, angered, agitated, and aggravated when prayer, the Bible, and the church are attacked.
However, I receive strength from God’s word when it does happen; But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Cor 4:7-9
Religious freedom will continue to be taken away from the followers of Jesus; but I do not lose heart for my God reigns!

Religious freedom does not include having the government present your specific religious views.

  2. I remember when my children were small, going to Hudson School, They knew they were different from most of the others in the school.(They had both accepted Jesus into their lives) I tried to explain to them that the spirit of the world which controlled those who did not know Christ recognized the Spirit of the Living God in them, and hated them for it. That is kind of a nebulous idea for young children to understand, but I believe it helped them cope.

  3. My public voice could be silenced, but the sound of my heart will never be stoped, for that is eternal. I see my Saviour, Jesus the Son of God, answering my inter thought prayers. I want to shout “saints araise”, but Father God said these times would come. We are to stand! Keep our peace, that Christ has given us, intact. AND pray for the lost & for the peace of Jerusalem.

  4. you are free to believe what you want and practice as you wish in your home and in your place of worship

the public square is for everyone to share, and believers just can’t seem to work and play well with others, and you guys can’t seem to tell the difference between oppression (what you do) and enforcing the existing rules of the land

  5. One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all. Yes we all have the liberty to speak our minds, be we Christians or not, but Justice will be meted out to all by our Lord. I would think twice before speaking out against Him. What if you are wrong? Are you willing to take that chance? More will be left behind than will inherit His kingdom.
