I may be a strong Christian but I have my moments of doubt when it seems as if God is a dream, a figment of my imagination.
At those times it seems He is so far from me and I from Him.
My prayers seem to go unanswered and my life is in despair.
I am bombarded daily by the secular world that tells me to seek pleasure and my own desires.
The “ist’s” try to brain wash me; atheists, evolutionists, humanists, feminist, abortionist, communists, fascists, and terrorists; each with their own agenda but with one thing in common and that is to tell me my agenda and beliefs are intolerant, outdated, and wrong.
I can only imagine how John the Baptist must have felt as he was imprisoned.
He had baptized Jesus and witnessed the Spirit in the form of a dove light upon Him.
He heard a voice from heaven declare the Sonship of Jesus.
John, himself, had declared that Jesus was indeed the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.
But here he was in a dark, damp prison with barely enough food, water and warmth to keep him alive.
He had done all that God had ask him so why was he here?
Indeed he seemed to have prophesied his own demise when he said of Jesus, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
Then word reach him inside the prison of all the things Jesus was doing and yet the idea that he was in this gloomy dungeon could not be forgotten.
Had he missed something; did he not understand God?
He could stand it no longer and John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”
When the men had come to Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’” And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.
Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Luke 7:18, 23
In your darkest hour of depression and despair remember to not be despaired that God has allowed you in that place but bless His name in that He knows exactly where you are and is with you all the way.
He still cares!
I think we all have these doubts, I know I do. Good job as usual Bro
