The birth of Jesus can begin with the prophets of Israel that foretold His coming.
It can also begin with a priest named Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth, which the Bible says were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. Luke 1:6-7
Your service for the Lord does not begin nor end at any certain age.
No doubt Zacharias was trained for the priesthood at an early age and in the course of time he married.
The years continued and 2 things never happened – they had no children and Zacharias never performed Temple duties.
Both remained faithful to God’s service being righteous before God and walking in all commandments and ordinances of the Lord – blameless!
They did not quit.
They did not abandon God.
And though both were well advanced in years, 2 things happened – he was chosen to go into the Temple and burn the incense and Elizabeth became pregnant.
As if this wasn’t enough, their son will be the forerunner of Jesus announcing that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29
Never think you’re too old or young to be of use to God; Moses was 80 when he began to deliver Israel from Egypt and Samuel was just a boy when God first spoke to him.
What is the secret to being used by God at any age?
It’s no secret at all – willingness!
Willingness will lead to obedience, discipline, and servitude.
In this way, you too can walk righteous before God in Christ Jesus at any age!
The older I get the more the scriptures come together in an understandable way. I actualy see them being lived. Hopefuly My life will make an empact on the younger generation & it wont take them as long to learn.
