Cherish the moment.

What a weekend.
Linda, Haylee, and I went to visitation Saturday afternoon and, on Sunday, the funeral for Austin, Brandon, and Shaina, the 3 children tragically lost in last weeks fire.
Then we watched the movie The Heart of Christmas, which is based on the true life story of 2 year old Dax Locke, who lost his battle with cancer in 2009.
Needless to say the moral of the day is to cherish each moment.
The Bible says the same thing with Prov 27:1; don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring. NLT
Matt 6:34 – do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
James 4:13-14 – Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
I have done many funerals in my time as a pastor and every one of them have one thing in common; the day came too soon; it didn’t matter if they were 6 or 106.
Each breath, each moment should be held in the heart.
I believe every day should be lived for God but there are many that do not share my belief.
It is written behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Cor 6:2
Many keep putting off their salvation until tomorrow or next week.
One man that did that almost waited too late; but in his final moment he said, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” Luke 23:42
Still many more wait until it’s too late; too late for salvation or too late to say, “I love you!”
Don’t wait; cherish the moment!
Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. Heb 3:15

  1. It’s not giving up the troubles & up sets of the day that keeps us from cherishing the moment, and the ones in it. God help us to lay it down
