It’s Viral

vi•ral [vahy-ruh l] becoming very popular by circulating quickly from person to person, especially on the Internet.

Last week I made a picture to put on Facebook. It was one of those, that I’m sure you’ve seen, with a little arrow that points into the upper left corner and says something like, “This Person Believes In…” this or that.
So I made one that says “this person believes in saying Merry Christmas!”
I figured that if I posted it maybe a dozen or two of my friends would also share it.
Boy was I mistaken; it has gone viral!
After an unusual amount of friend requests, I noticed last Saturday morning that it had been shared around 4500 times.
As I write today’s Morning Thought, it is over 8900.
While I am totally blown away by the popularity of my photo, it got me to thinking about the Gospel.
Wouldn’t it be great if we would share Jesus and He would go viral?
It’s happened before!
In Acts 2 you can read the account of Pentecost.
Peter preached the Word and those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about 3,000 souls were added to them. Acts 2:41
Not long after that message Peter was preaching once again, along with John, and this time those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about 5,000. Acts 4:4
Now that is the viral word of God; spreading from person to person.
It’s high time that the word of God starts spreading like that again.
When is the last time you heard of 3,000 giving their lives to God at the preaching of 1 sermon?
Never? Me either!
That can only mean it’s time for His people to seek His blessings on every sermon that is preached that more and more will come to receive His saving grace.
Can this happen?
And if so, how?
I’ll look at that next time!

  1. In Walmart…Father God moved me to speak to a lady at the check out. I stood wondering what to say when she spoke to me…The L O V E was on. We praised God our Saviour, we testified , we confermed, we loved each other then those who were not with us. No one around us seamed to notice us. But I know that the Word will accomplish it’s goal! I asked the cashier if she knows Jesus. She said yes, but acted as though she was embaresed. I am not ashamed of the MAN that died for me, that arose from the dead for me, that empowers by daily life…JESUS the only begotten SON of GOD ! ! !
