Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,”Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Matt 24:3
Is this year the end of this world as we know it today?
Absolutely! 2012 has many changes ahead in it.
For instance, this is an election year and either we will have a new President or have the currently one for another term.
It is a year for the Summer Olympics, to be held in London, England.
It is a leap year.
Passover will be sunset of April 6th, Pentecost is sunset of May 26th, and Yom Teruah will be sunset of September 16th.
Those are the things that I know are planned.
It’s the unplanned things that will absolutely change life as we know it today.
Economically we are in a bad way and it will change one way or the other; for better or worse.
War and rumors of war; tsunami’s, earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, and blizzards are all possibilities that can change the world.
Solar flares and the disruption of the electrical grid, a asteroid plummeting to earth, or space debris falling are all possibilities.
Will there be birth or death in your family; marriage or divorce; raise or pink slip?
These are the things which will change your world, should they happen.
Forget about the Mayan’s; they are not the final word on the end of things.
The Lord Jesus is!
It is by His hand that things fall into place for the Great Time that lies in the future.
Will Jesus return this year?
It is entirely possible and if He does He will come on a specific day, just as He died for our sins on a specific day.
He will fulfill all things.
Your own little world will change this year; it does every year.
What can you do to prepare for the expected and unexpected?
In John 21:20-22, Jesus is talking to Peter about his future.
Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?”
Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”
The words spoken to Peter are also given to you; You follow Me!
Beautiful and so true! we need to be ready each day, not according to predictions and conditions but according to His will and keep following Him, waiting upon Him (remember the 10 virgin’s story?) and be ready! Thank you, wonderful post, keep going, may the Lord bless each step you take, each word you write! amen!

We’ve been given a job by Christ the Master. We should be concerned about doing the best we can in that calling and not be so concerned about what the Master is doing. He said He’d come for us, lets just trust Him.
