Home – Give it your blessing!

Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Ps 90:1
My wife has been away from home for 3 weeks as she stayed at our daughter’s home to help with our new grandson, which is their first child.
It was a strange end and beginning of the year.
We weren’t together for Christmas Eve or Christmas – a first in 32 years.
We usually take a New Year’s caching trip but not this year.
The nights were lonely.
I went to church by myself and had to depend on my own memory for upcoming events.
I cooked for myself the most unhealthiest of foods, mostly from a can or TV dinner.
Last Thursday I headed to Corinth immediately after work and spent the weekend with my family and new grandson.
It was good to see and hold him but it was sweet to get home and to have Linda home with me.
It is written whenever you enter a home, give it your blessing. Luke 10:5
My blessing walked in the door with me. She sanctifies our home and makes it warm and cozy.
I have another blessing awaiting me.
Jesus said, “There are many rooms in my Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2
I’ve yet to experience that heavenly home though I have experienced the Spirit of God; His compassion, companionship, and closeness. It is a sweet thing.
I can only imagine how great it is going to be to go to that new home when the time comes; that place the Lord has prepared for me.
For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come. Heb 13:14

  1. This past week, as life progressed, I realized I needed my feet washed. So, I asked Jesus if He’d wash my feet like He did Peters. Sunday school was about that very thing. And as you might guess, I was the first! Many of the others followed. I respect those who didn’t. I’m sorry they did not. I was so blessed that Jesus did that for me! The blessing goes on…I always dream. Last nights dreams were filled with love, family (church family), home, & none of it from this world. The little bits of Heaven I get here shows me I will not miss anything about this life on earth.
