I’ll be honest with you; sometimes I sit at my computer, praying, reading scripture, and staring at a blank page.
I think to myself, “What is wrong today? I can’t think of anything to say. I can’t write a Morning Thought if I don’t have any thoughts.”
I feel out of touch with God, like I’m failing. I kept reading and reading; maybe an hour goes by and still nothing is written down.
It’s pretty foolish of me because any word from God’s word is not nothing!
As I read I was filling myself with the written word of God, the words of Life.
Reading God’s word is not a waste of time and certainly sending out just a scripture is not a failure.
I have had several replies from readers that said things like “this is just what I needed to be reminded of!”
For me, I think I need to be reminded that these are Morning Thoughts but they shouldn’t be from Pastor Tim, but from God for encouragement, for knowledge, and for conviction.
I forget this sometimes and think it’s all got to come out of my head but God reminds me otherwise.
And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the LORD. “Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” Jer 23:28-29
Every Christian has His word and is instructed to speak it faithfully. Every day it will accomplish what is it sent to do; to burn the chaff from our hearts so that what is left is good.
His word is able to break stubbornness or fill emptiness.
More than ever before, I believe that speaking just one sentence of God’s word to someone in Wal-mart, at school, at work, or in your own home – just one sentence plants a seed that will sprout. How it grows it up to the hearer.
So read from God’s word today and speak it to someone else.
I have a similar problem when I write my blog. I will keep this in mind,
