Kindred spirits in the ministry

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11
Sunday night we had a visitor in our home. A local pastor stopped by with a significant blessing to help our church with the air conditioner needs.
More important than the wonderful gift of faith that he brought was how he ministered to Linda and me.
He blessed us.
He prayed for us!
He spoke God best over us!
He spoke of the ministry at his church and I was amazed at how his feelings paralleled my own. We are kindred spirits in the ministry.
The church I pastor has been blessed by the church he pastors.
I am amazed how God sends the right messenger at the right time, not to minister with money or goods, but to minister with words of encouragement, kindness, and grace.
I believe he listened to God to come at this perfect moment; though he said he’d been meaning to come for a while.
May the Lord Jesus bless his minister; may he receive abundance overflowing in his ministry, in his church, in his family, in his health, his finances; in all that he does in the name of Jesus may he be blessed!

  1. Yes & amen! I visited an other church, having been invited, for their song service. I reconized a fellow warrior. Her weapon is different than mine yet the same. When she played the piano my spirit was moved with the stirring of the Spirit. So strange that we move & do without knowing what we are doing according to God’s call on our lives. I spoke with her afterward, called her a warrior, & explained. She had never heard or thought of it. God would not have us egnorant! I like that ole saying, birds of a feather… so also like spirits or those of similer calling will come together, reconize one another.
