Last Friday Linda texted me and said that the Broaddus school’s were on lock-down. What she heard and thus relayed to me was that the same man that had vandalized our church air-conditioners was out on bond and at it again.
The sheriff’s department went to arrest him and he ran into the attic, where he was tazed and fell through the roof and into a room below.
The tazing or the fall had little effect on him because he was high on meth.
He then ran into the wooded area behind the school, causing a lock-down.
State troopers, a helicopter, and blood hounds all joined in the search.
The fugitive stole a 4-wheeler and somehow wrecked it.
He took off most of his clothing to evade the bloodhounds, so it was reported that he was running in the Angelina National Forest and surrounding area with nothing on.
He kept from being captured until late into the night, though there were multiple sightings of him.
He later broke into a house, stole some clothing and cash; then he stole a pickup and drove to the Houston area.
What is the truth?
First, after he was out on bond the state issued a warrant for parole violation, a day late and a dollar short!
He did climb into his attic and jumped out.
He was tazed but only 1 tazer wire (out of 2) hit him because he was running.
He did run through the woods and stole a 4 wheeler then later got it stuck in a creek and then was on foot.
He was never naked but only shed his shirt.
The tracking dogs had a hard time tracking him because he ran the creek most of the day. He ended up sleeping in an abandoned house later stealing a pickup and went to Houston.
When it comes to a story it makes no difference if it’s a fugitive on the run, a child getting in trouble at school, or something at church; rumors and story embellishment is bound to happen.
Could this be something that affects the Bible?
Is that why there are so many wild stories like Jonah and the Whale, Elijah and the fiery chariot, or Jesus walking on water?
Some would dare say yes, but they forget one very important thing – God breathed His word. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. 2 Tim 3:16
The word inspiration literally means divinely breathed in.
King David said, “Your words are true!” 2 Sam 7:28
2 Sam 22:31 says, “The word of the Lord is proven.”
Ps 119:160 – The entirety of Your word is truth,
John 17:17 – Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Eph 1:13 – In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth
2 Tim 2:15 – Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Rev 22:6 – These words are faithful and true.
I believe that His word given to us is the truth. There is no rumor or embellishment. His word contains the only way of life!
it seems that with people, a story starts out close to being true, and lots of things get added to make the story more exciting, or more palatable for others to believe.
God needs no embellishments for His truth.

Amen. God makes it smiple for our benifit. And however smiple it may be there is nothing more powerful. Embellishments, like make up, are nice when modest. Other wise they are TRAPing. Gentelness should always be seen in us. Though Godly wisdom may make us look dumb to the embellished. Question is, whose pleasure are we seeking? Whose interrest do we want?
