Love?

Christians are constantly bombarded by being told we should love everyone!
So we should because the Bible says in 1 John 4:7, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God.
James 2:8 – Love your neighbor as yourself
1 Thess 3:12 – may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.
Rom 12:9-10 – Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
John 15:17 – This is my command: Love each other.
I agree with what the Bible says! I believe that love is the greatest gift, that it covers a multitude of sin, and that the greatest love is to lay down your life for your friends.
However this is not the message that is coming from the world. That’s a key; the world is telling God how He must love.
The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. John 15:19
The gay community would have you believe that acceptance of their lifestyle is the Christian thing to do. They would “love you as one of its own”.
Recently Country singer and professed Christian, Carrie Underwood, was asked how she felt about Same-Sex Marriage.
Part of her response was, “Above all, God wanted us to love others. It’s not about setting rules, or [saying] ‘everyone has to be like me.’ No. We’re all different. That’s what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It’s not up to me to judge anybody.”
Yes, God does want us to love each other but love is not acceptance. I can love my children and disapprove of what they do.
Love is not sex!
Love is not tolerance for sin.
Genuine Christian affection is having enough love for others as to share the Gospel with them; to warn others of God’s impending judgment.
Even to the woman caught in the act of adultery was told by Jesus to go and sin no more. John 8:11
He did not say, “I love you and you go about your business. You love and live as you wish.”
Sin is sin and, in love, it must be addressed!

  1. Love strong enough to address sin in unexceptable to the sinner. Sometime the saint too. So many people are hurting and can not extend forgiveness. To them I want only to speak of God’s healing love. If we truly ask Him to forgive & then empower us to forgive lives would change. Mine did.I have told people that God says if they die in there sin & I didn’t speak to them about it then their blood is on my hands. I tell them the truth according to the Word. Then let them know it’s their decision as what to do.
