Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. Ps 133:1-2
Think about the unity of the oil and that is how the church should be.
First, the oil all came from the same source, the same bottle, as it were. The same person poured all of it and probably poured it all on the same place, the head.
The pourer didn’t have to move to the shoulders, arms, legs, or feet, just pour it on the head.
The oil ran the same direction, not right to left, not sideways; but it ran down according to God’s law of gravity.
It didn’t have to move contrary to God’s law to cover every part; it did that as it traveled the same direction, covering the head, the beard, the neck, the shoulders, the arms, the back, the front, the sides, and the legs.
The oil gathered in one place, running down on the edge of his garments to the hem.
On Aaron, and upon its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet, all around its hem, and bells of gold between them all around: a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe all around. Ex 28:33-35
It would seem that the hem may have been the most anointed place on Aaron with the pomegranates, bells, and the flowing oil gathering there.
Perhaps this is why suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment (Matt 9:20) and wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well. Mark 6:56
Isn’t it time that we gathered together in unity at the hem of His garment?
And where is the hem of His garment?
It is at the feet of Jesus!
That means we’d have to drop to our knees!
