Boundaries

When you arrive in the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession, you must never steal anyone’s land by moving the boundary markers your ancestors set up to mark their property. Deut 19:14
Do you have a yard fence?
If you do, that is a boundary that says, “Hey, this is my property!”
Add a locked gate and that spells ‘keep out’.
There places around my area that have trees painted with a purple patch, which means No Trespassing. There are some trees with a painted yellow patch, which has indicated the boundary of a timber company.
Iron stakes in the ground or a pile of rock can also define a boundary marker.
I don’t have a fence around my yard or down by the road where my property begins, yet, it is my property by law. However, if someone just wandered onto my property by the side of the road, I really couldn’t jump-their-case since there is not a No Trespassing sign and no fence, though they would probably know it is my property.
There are many people that carpool during the week and park their vehicles on my church parking lot. I’m sure they all see the invisible boundary that says the parking lot belongs to the church. Let me put up a No Parking sign and it becomes a boundary they should not cross.
Every day you come upon boundary after boundary as you travel or walk; even when you talk to a co-worker, there is an unseen boundary there that tells you how much or what you can say to them, how close you can get, and whether or not you can joke around with them.
Now to the real problem that we are having with these boundary lines.
Don’t cheat your neighbor by moving the ancient boundary markers set up by previous generations. Prov 22:28
The spiritual boundary has been moved in our country, society, school, and church.
Over the remainder of the week, I want to look at setting the boundaries back.
