Humble themselves and pray!

Like most, you’re probably familiar with 2 Chron 7:14.
It’s a verse that gives hope and encouragement to a nation, a people, and society.
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
I have often thought about how we must humble ourselves.
When being humble is used in the Bible, it’s often associated with fasting.
Deut 8:3 – So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger,
Ps 35:13 – My clothing was sackcloth; I humbled myself with fasting; And my prayer would return to my own heart.
Then I found where Father demands that our humility and fasting is much more than doing without something to eat or giving up something that is important.
Isa 58:4-9
What good is fasting when you keep on fighting and quarreling?
This kind of fasting will never get you anywhere with me. You humble yourselves by going through the motions of penance, bowing your heads like reeds bending in the wind. You dress in burlap and cover yourselves with ashes.
Is this what you call fasting? Do you really think this will please the Lord?
“No, this is the kind of fasting I want:

  •   Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;
  •   Lighten the burden of those who work for you.
  •   Let the oppressed go free and
  •   Remove the chains that bind people.
  •   Share your food with the hungry and
  •   Give shelter to the homeless.
  •   Give clothes to those who need them and
  •   Do not hide from relatives who need your help.

“Then your salvation will come like the dawn and your wounds will quickly heal.
Your godliness will lead you forward and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind. Then when you call, the Lord will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.
For our nation to live in the fulfillment of 2 Chronicles 7:14, it seems we have our work cut out for us with Isaiah 58!
I cannot make the government turn to Father in faith.
I cannot make them repent and turn our nation around.
No! It is up to me to do my part; to repent, fast, pray, turn from my wicked ways, and seek Father.
It is up to you to join me.
Together we are a revival waiting to happen; waiting to spread!
