Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Ps 33:12
In his inaugural address, President George Washington began talking about the “Almighty Being who rules over the Universe”, the Great Author of every public and private good, and the invisible hand of providence.
He said a nation such as ours could not have come into existence “without some return of pious gratitude along with an humble anticipation of the future blessings which the past seem to presage.”
This speech was given in the capital city of New York, on the second floor balcony of Federal Hall.
Federal Hall. Afterwards, he proceeded to St. Paul’s church for service.
This all took place only blocks from where the national security of the US would be breached on September 11, 2001.
According to Rabbi Jonathon Cahn, author of The Harbinger and the video Isaiah 9:10-Judgment, a vow was made in the capital city by the leader of the nation that the nation owes praise and honor to God for His blessings upon us.
Now we are a nation that has forgotten Him, much like ancient Israel, and He lifted that protective barrier on that Tuesday morning in September.
We can blame the terrorists all we want, but I happen to agree the only people at fault are our own.
Israel also had terrorists that invaded their homeland and plundered the capital, at the very spot that humble dedication of the nation was given to God – the Temple mount!
So the Lord brought the king of Babylon against them. The Babylonians killed Judah’s young men, even chasing after them into the Temple. They had no pity on the people, killing both young men and young women, the old and the infirm. God handed all of them over to Nebuchadnezzar. The king took home to Babylon all the articles, large and small, used in the Temple of God, and the treasures from both the Lord’s Temple and from the palace of the king and his officials. Then his army burned the Temple of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, burned all the palaces, and completely destroyed everything of value. 2 Chron 36:17-19
The solution to avoid such catastrophic judgment was clear – Return, you backsliding children, And I will heal your backslidings. Jer 3:22
On 9/11 the call was made to retaliate and rebuild, when we should have had a call to return to the Lord God!
I read, with rapt attention, “The Harbinger” we as His people must do as 2nd Chronicles 7:14 says.

I agree with your sobering thought, Tim. Nationally and individually we are safe as long as we are in God. Psalm 127: 1 B “Unless the Lord guars the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.” NASB
