Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:16-18
I realized something Monday night as I was lying in bed. When it dawned on me, I was very disappointed with myself.
One of the last things I do when I get ready to go to sleep is pray; it’s the one thing I had not done on the cruise.
I thought “how I could forget about praying and thanking God at the end of my day.”
That’s not to say that I did not pray. We prayed at each meal but that’s not the same as entering my closet.
I thought about God throughout the day. I saw his handiwork in the sea and in the sunsets. I knew of His presence in the birds and fish.
I can only think I was so tired at the end of every day that I just went to bed and fell asleep.
Perhaps it was the excitement of what the next sunrise had in store.
I know that I was out of my routine. Instead of getting up and reading my Bible, I got up and ran up to the top deck to see the sunrise.
As fun and relaxing as this cruise was, I am glad to be home and in my routine of reading my Bible, praying, rejoicing in the new day, and praying.
Simply put…we have to get out of our comfort zone now & again. Your divine attachment obviously undisturbed on the other end.
