It’s Election Day!
I am thankful to live in a country where the Founders choose a method of government where the general public has a voice in who will rule over them.
Despite which candidate will win, I believe that God will have His way.
There has been much said about this election. There is a definite polarizing division in the country.
I have already voted and either my choice will win or not. Either way my duty is to pray for whoever wins.
To be honest, I am not thrilled about either candidate. Many times it seems American’s return to the polls with a choice of the lesser of two evils. That line between the two is blurring.
Being a Christian, I want the choice of someone with ethics and virtue; someone that can be truly honest and moral.
I was reading in God’s word and found Gideon.
He was a judge of Israel and delivered his nation from an oppressing nation of Midian.
When it was over the whole nation wanted Gideon, his children, and grandchildren to rule over them, creating a perpetual monarchy.
But Gideon said to them, “I will not rule over you, nor shall my son rule over you; the Lord shall rule over you.” Judg 8:23
I know the idea of having a theocracy really scares many people. It’s probably because a religious rule in some countries can be a brutal thing. We have some Islamic countries as an example.
However, Islamic rule is not a Godly rule.
The day will come when He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. Rev 19:15
And the Lord shall reign forever. Ps 146:10
So rally to a side and choose your candidate today!
Better yet, rally to the side of Jesus and choose Him today!
He is the clear choice!
We voted early. I always questioned Rev. 19:15 Jesus Himself, in person, is here to rule. WHY would He need a rod of iron? Recently it was explained to me, There will still be those people that will reject Him. My mind finds that so difficult to except, yet there it is. I believe what my God says!
