Last time I took a look at the birth of Jesus, which probably wasn’t on December 25th but then no one knows for sure.
I’ve seen headstones on graves that didn’t have a birth date or perhaps had the wrong one.
Jesus also spoke about being born. This is what He had to say – Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” John 3:3-4
Jesus seemed to be concerned with a second birth – a new birth! Though He only spoke of it once to Nicodemus, it is recorded for each to read and learn from.
This new birth gives each person an opportunity for a fresh start and a better life.
It is written of this new birth, He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5
I was born in 1957. I was raised by loving parents and family. I had grandparents, relatives, and friends. I went to school and sometimes attended church.
Though I was fairly happy, I realized in 1975 that something was missing from my life.
That something was Jesus.
I accepted His love, grace, and forgiveness.
I was born again!
Now my life is much more fulfilling. I am happier, even when adversity and trouble happen.
I know that someday my first life, the one I began in 1957, will end. But the new birth and life I began in 1975 will never end.
For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” 1 Peter 1:23-25
I know you were born once. I pray that you are born again. If not, today is not too late!
