Ministerial Alliance with Lanny, Jim, and myself.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15

I studied at Jacksonville Baptist College from Spring of 1977 and graduated in May 1979. It was some of the most memorable years of my life.
I was able to study in my preferred field of interest – Bible. Of course I also had to dabble in history, science, and math.
I met some really great people that became life-long friends. It was at college that I picked up on a great way to study and that’s with homemade flash cards.
I would write at question on front and the answer on back. This method became quite popular with some of us.
In fact, I just received a message from one of my old college chums about it. His name is Jim Schafer.

Tim, remember Lanny Petty and myself and how we studied for brother Anderson’s tests, and some other tests? Well, thanks to your study-skills and practices, I learned and achieved my license in substance abuse counseling, but I never was placed to counsel anywhere. After 20 years, mental health work(nursing). Now looking back on it, I can see how He used me there, in that position. I want to thank you for your assistance in the development of my study-skills.

There are many different ways you and I can help others. We can help tutor alegebra, teach carpentry, assist in the arts like music or painting; even teach someone computer skills, cooking, or photography.
You have a special skill that can be passed to someone else. You may not believe you are an expert but sometimes others don’t need an expert – just some plain ol’ down home type folk to help.
Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God’s hand for that person. Prov 3:27 The Message Bible.
Of course the greatest help you can give someone else is to tell them about Jesus.
