Don’t let stress control you!

stressedDo you ever get stressed out?
Of course you do! It’s a “duh” question.
You get the feeling that everything is coming undone.
You feel as though your whole world is crumbling before your eyes.
Like Job said, “The churning inside me never stops.” Job 30:27 NIV
You may call it affliction, anxiety or tension.
You may have a headache with it, tightened neck, or other physical sickness.
You would give anything for this stress to be replaced with comfort, happiness and peace.
Good news!
God does not want you to be stressed out and He has given many helpful scriptures for dealing with stress.
It’s not enough to just read them – you must claim them for yourself.
You must speak the blessing of them. Read them aloud! Pray them and live them.
Phil 4:6-7 – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Ps 37:5 – Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

Ps 55:22 – Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

John 14:27 – “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

There are many more verses.
The one thing each has in common is to trust God. He will not leave you or steer you wrong.

There have been times I have been stressed out, usually by external factors out of my control but I let it control me. This is how stress happens – when you are out of control.
One final word – don’t let your trust in God stress you out. God does not think nor act in a way that equal to your thoughts or actions. Still, He knows what is perfect and best. So go ahead and give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.1 Peter 5:7
