Fullest Potential – Lead Others to Christ

potential leadOne day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living.
Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
And they left their nets at once and followed him.
A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too.
They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind. Matt 4:18-22

Reaching your full potential in Christ will involve leading others to Him.

Someone once said, “Preach the Gospel. And if necessary, use words!”

If you are a Christian then you are going to give a message about Christ. Others will get your message in how you live and what you say. Honestly, they’ll watch how you live more!
So to bring others to Jesus will involve your life and words to agree!

Peter was one of the first people called by the Lord. Later on he would say, “If someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.” 1 Peter 3:15

Can you explain to someone about being a Christian? And can you lead them to that point where they would trust God and pray for forgiveness?

The source for salvation is always in the scripture. Several that I love to use are known as the Roman Road of Salvation, simply because the scriptures are all in the book of Romans.

Most people don’t see a need for salvation. There was a time that I didn’t. I thought I was ok just the way I was. I wasn’t as bad as a murderer or anything.
But God’s word says everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Rom 3:23
And no one is righteous— not even one. Rom 3:10
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Rom 5:12

These first three verses told me that I was a sinner, no matter how good I thought I was I was not living up to God’s standard.

So is being a sinner really so bad? I mean, I’m still not as bad as others.
For the wages of sin is death. Rom 6:23
The penalty for my sin is death. It doesn’t seem to make any difference if I’m a better or worse sinner than others. Death is the prize for sin!

So if I am going to die for my sin, what hope is there?
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 6:23
God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Rom 5:8

If Jesus died for my sin and gives it as a free gift, then how can I be saved?
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Rom 10:9-10

Is that really all there is to be saved?
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Rom 10:13

But just as Peter, Andrew, James, and John all left their old life behind and started following Jesus; they each had to be discipled, that is, taught how to live a new life in Christ.

This is where Christian fellowship and church enter your life. Learning to pray and read your Bible. Seeking God’s will everyday for your life.

I’m a firm believer in Christian fellowship and Christian friendship.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Prov 27:17

  1. God is good! I know He gives everyone more than just one oppertunity to come to Him. Then He begins training. Many call this tests. It is through the testing that we learn where we are in strength. No matter how old we get schooling will always be needed. And some times we have to repeat an old lesson. I don’t understand how anyone can say no to God’s invitation. He wants us to know Him, to be with Him forever, to share in the beauty of His home. God help me make a difference in the lives of those in my life, even if their there only momentarily.
