The power to forgive and be forgiven

Matt 18:21 “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

You’re probably familiar with this scripture.
You’re probably familiar with the answer. It demonstrates just how great God’s love and forgiveness is for you and, therefore, you should have the same for others.

What would the answer be if the question were reversed?

“How often shall my brother forgive me when I sin against him?”

For me that throws it into a totally different light.

I do sin against others. Sometimes I don’t realize it. I deserve their anger and retribution but never receive it because I am forgiven by them.

Forgiveness is not just something you give to another – it is also something you receive.

Abba Father, I am forgiven by You and so many others. I praise the name of Jesus for the ability – the desire to forgive! YES&AMEN
