2 Peter 2:5 [God] did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
I read this a little differently this morning.
Normally I read it as God flooded the world, which is correct. But now I read the a preacher of righteousness bringing a flood on the world – a flood of preaching the word of God.
This is what is needed in the days of Noah before Jesus returns – a flood of preaching God’s word to the ungoldly.
A chance for them to hear the real Good News of salvation and an opportunity to be saved before certain judgement.
Turn on the water – the Living Water and flood the world!
Abba Father, I want to be that preacher of righteousness in these last days. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and pour Your word forth from my mouth. In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN.
Amen. Me too. I just now see the application of Acts 16:31 here. God said only of Noah that he was righteous. Acts 16:31 says, “…believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” For sure the N. T. is the opening of the O.T. Two witness’!
