Common Faith

Titus 1:4 To Titus, a true son in our common faith:

Common faith! I believe the church I pastor is learning the meaning of that.
It’s just something that I heard yesterday in Sunday school.

There is much in the Bible that isn’t commonly understood and each of us has an opinion about. As I like to say, “it’s not worth splitting hairs over.”

Sunday morning I heard something close to that.

I’m glad!

The battleground is not with each other. The line we draw in the sand is often far from the front line.

Our main concern should not be quibbling over small doctrinal differences or personal opinions – but our concern should be salvation for those that do no know Jesus!

You should be concerned about reading and meditating on as much of the Holy Scripture as we possibly can. You should be concerned with getting the truth of God’s word in us so that it will change you and begin spilling out in your life.

Then you will truly experience “our common faith” – the power of the Godhead living within you!

Abba, I don’t want to seek out those I have something in common with; but I want to seek out what I have in common with that one person that is in front of me. In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN

  1. Amen. We should all be doing as God told Samuel, Don’t look to the outer appearance, rather look at the heart as His does.
