Matt 27:12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
I recently saw a Facebook post in which someone was attempting to defend their self from on-line accusations and insulting comments.
My first thought was “don’t do it!”
All it did was show the defendant’s anger and lack of verbal restraint.
Jesus was also accused of things He didn’t do. He was railed against. He was mocked and beat up.
He also said nothing. Even though He could have had more than twelve legions of angels to help Him out – but didn’t!
Sometimes the loudest words are those that aren’t spoken.
I have discovered that those people that want to stir up trouble against me don’t need me to help stir the pot. To be a student of the Bible means to have the discipline and control over your speech. Left alone, falsehoods die by themselves. Any interaction by you will keep it alive.
Prov 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him.
Abba Father, give me the wisdom to speak and to say nothing! In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN
Well said, Tim. And this is SO timely, with all the online fighting and people publicly thrashing each other for personal opinions or innocent remarks.
