Class of 2020

2 Kings 21:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king

My oldest granddaughter is twelve years old. Last night she graduated sixth grade.
I cannot imagine her or any of her classmates as president.

For the most part a twelve-year-old is more interested in texting friends than attending peace talks with a Middle-East nation.

King Manasseh would have been much the same way. At that age he would have had advisors. His advisors were bad because Manasseh was an evil king that led his nation in sin.

I try to think back and remember what I was doing at twelve. I did not know Jesus as Savior. I do remember I was worried about it. A Sunday school teacher had once said that if we did not know Jesus as Savior by the time we were thirteen, we would go to hell.

A very wrong theology – but effective. I was concerned about my own salvation at twelve years old, though it was five more years before I became a Christian.

I pray that this class will get good advice about being morally and ethically accountable. And I pray that each one, if they haven’t already, will accept Jesus as Savior.

Abba, I pray for this class of 2020. I pray that I can do my part with any of them to help lead them in the path of righteousness. In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN
