There are many, many church websites today. The church I pastor has one. Church websites are a great way to
present information about doctrine, belief, service times, staff, special events, and a portal for video or audio messages.
Coupled alongside Facebook pages and Twitter feeds, church websites give a glimpse into the life of a church.
Churches are changing and much of this isn’t a good thing. Gone are the days of the Puritans.
Many churches today are compromising the most basic Bible doctrine with worldliness. They seem to be trying to get along in a world of sin that they should be at odds with. This is done all in the name of love and tolerance.
The apostle John spoke of worldliness in his first epistle.
They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:5-6
According to John there is a spirit of truth and a spirit of error.
The spirit of error is when mankind seeks to change God’s word to fit his sinful lifestyle. You cannot compromise the holiness of God with the sinfulness of man. It is God’s way or no way at all.
God is so strict in this belief that He gave a minimum of four scriptures that tell us not to change or compromise His word.
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Deut 4:2
Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it. Deut 12:32
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. Prov 30:5-6
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Rev 22:18-19
No doubt there is someone can read any church website or listen to any minister and say that they have changed the word of God. I’m sure what I preach about the Bible is lumped into this.
To understand God’s word – one only needs to read God’s word… over and over and over again.
