No Neutrality with God

I saw on the news this morning that a major retailer is doing away with the signage in its stores that are gender specific.
Now this is mainly happening in the toy section so there won’t be any “boys” or “girls” toys any more.

The dumbest thing I heard was from the news anchor reporting this who said, “I think that’s smart. I think people should be able to buy anything they want to buy. When I was a kid all the stuff was in the boys section.”

Really? Can’t you buy anything you want to buy anyway! Nothing stops a parent from buying any kind of toy or product for either gender.

What I don’t like is the news just rolls over and says, “that’s a great idea!”

Will the men and women’s section be the next to go gender neutral? Wouldn’t that be a mess to just mix all the dresses into the same area with work shirts; putting the men’s bluejeans in amongst the women’s bluejeans?

Neutrality is going too far.
Is this eventually going to be applied to everything?
Maybe there will be no more dogs and cats, they’ll just be called pets, which could include a goldfish, hamster, or iguana.
Won’t that be interesting when you go pickup some neutral pet food at the store?

Perhaps tools can become neutral. No more hammer, drill, or saw – they will all be known as “tools”.

So if you are in the construction trade make sure you don’t ask for anything specific today. Ask for a tool to assist in dividing a 2X4 into two or more sections. Then you will need a tool to connect the two pieces back together with a type of metal attachment.
I’m confused at this point. I’m not if the boards are going to be nailed together with a hammer or screwed together with the drill.

God is anything but neutral. He is very specific in His word as to how He created things.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Gen 1:27

When the first woman was created this is what the first man said about it.

And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.” Gen 2:23

And later on it is written,

He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. Gen 5:2

Even the New Testament is not neutral.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

There are many other places where God is not neutral – sheep and goats, saint’s and sinners, redeemed and lost, and those written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and those that are not.

There is no neutrality with God.

No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Luke 16:13

  1. It doesn’t much matter to me how the toys are displayed because I figure there’s a good chance that God has bigger things to be concerned with, as do we, than whether Wal Mart places little pink toy teapots on the same aisle with the little green plastic army men. Like whether we love our fellow man (what have we done for the poor today, instead of watching TV or playing around on the internet), and like this recent headline from Darfur: Children starve in Darfur’s Jebel Marra

Mortality rates owing to severe malnutrition among children in western Jebel Marra, Central Darfur, are rising rapidly.

Nierteti Hospital is crowded with young patients from the areas of Guldo, Tor, and Golo, an activist told Radio Dabanga.

“From 18 July until Thursday more than 15 children at Nierteti hospital died as a result of undernourishment,” he said.

“Seven of them died last week: Ishag Hassan Ali (17 months), Abdallah Omar Abdallah, Sumeiya Hussein Abakar, Maryam Bilal Hassan, and Hikmah Ibrahim Abakar, all 18-months-old, and Hosni Hussein Ibrahim and Mutaz El Nur Abdelaziz, both 23-months-old.”

According to 2015 figures published by the UN office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Sudan, some 3.5 million people in Darfur need humanitarian assistance. More than two thirds of children across Darfur are stunted because of malnutrition.
