You know there are people that don’t do right! They only look out for themselves and when they don’t get their way they argue, debate, scheme, or pout. They will manipulate and turn everything around to get their way.
There is a Biblical story of this type person. With it comes the solution.
And it came to pass after these things that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near, next to my house; and for it I will give you a vineyard better than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”
But Naboth said to Ahab, “The Lord forbid that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!” 1 Kings 21:1-3
That should be the end of it. The land belonged to Naboth, who does not want to sell it.
End of story.
Ahab began to pout. It was his wife that began to scheme.
To make a long story short, the situation was manipulated so that Naboth was lied against and eliminated.
The king then took the vineyard.
Is it difficult to believe that people act like this today?
The news is filled with violence and crime from those that covet what others have and will kill to get it.
Even companies and businesses have those that will dishonestly manipulate things for their own outcome.
And I hate to say it, but there are churches that have leaders that do the same!
Now here is the good news – God knows!
In the case of Ahab and Jezebel, God eliminated them! In your case there are the words of Paul.
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Rom 12:17-21
Your responsibility is to live Godly and not bring yourself down to the level of others; rather rise above and bring yourself to the level of Christ.
I am thankful that I can’t give what I think some folks deserve. God may have other plans for them, and for me.
