If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8
I know of ministers that refuse to speak of sin. One such minister was on TV years ago and actually said talking about sin would drag people down and he wanted to lift them up. As a result he would not talk about sin.
He not only deceived himself but all who listened.
You cannot defeat sin with ignorance and smiles. Sin is a disease – a plague upon mankind that we brought upon ourselves by disobedience.
Sin cannot be cured with medicine.
It is not done away with by psychology.
It is God that has determined what is sin and it is only God that can prescribe a remedy.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
So, does that mean I just stand and start naming off all the sin I have committed?
No. I would be here a very long time.
But confessing sin is the first step to admitting you’re a sinner and in need of help.
The next step is accepting God’s prescription for you – Jesus Christ.
