For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity. All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. Eccl 3:19-20
It was unfortunate.
A child escaped the protective side of his parents and fell into the gorilla exhibit in the Cincinnati zoo.
The story has been round and round on all media. Emotional animal lovers have weighed in. Animal rights activists have spoken. Parents gave their response. Experts on animal behavior spoke their expert opinion about the animal’s behavior.
Indeed, it is sad about the killing of a beautiful, magnificent silver back gorilla, but a child was in danger and that ends the debate.
It matters little that other children have fallen into gorilla paddocks and other gorillas have cared for the injured children; even handing them back to the zookeepers.
This did not appear to be happening in Cincinnati.
If you want to be enraged about the killing of animals then become an activist and go after those that senselessly poach gorillas, elephants, rhino’s, and other animals.
Better yet, if you really value life then stand to put an end to the senseless slaughter of unborn people! I don’t know how many animals will be poached this year but since abortion was legalized in 1973 over 58 Million children have been killed.
I love animals, but I think people should be more concerned about people than animals.
God loves animals too. Yet it was about man that He said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Gen 1:26-27
