Ps 8:3-5 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.

The news is out and scientists are all abuzz. A planetary body has been found in a habitable zone around Proxima Centauri. The planet called Proxima B, as opposed to normal names like Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Earth.
The phrase “habitable zone” means it is possible for water to exist. Without water there can be no life.

It may take a few years to prove the existence of the water or any life. The “planet” is 6 trillion miles away and if a rocket could consistently travel 20,000 mph it would take over 130 years to make the trip.

All the excitement is over something that can’t be proven. There’s the rub. Many scientists condemn the faith of a Christian because we excitedly believe in something that can’t be proven.

David wasn’t too concerned about the proof of water or life on far, distant planets. He was more down to earth and thinking about how God was concerned about him.
I don’t really believe God is interested in us reaching out to unproved neighbors 4.2 light years away. What He is interested is reaching out to your neighbor that is 200 feet away.
