No Innocence

“I am innocent of the blood of this just Person.” Matt 27:24

That’s the words of Roman Governor Pontius Pilate as handed Jesus over to the Jews to be put to death.
It’s recorded that Pilate did not find any evidence of wrong doing in Jesus – nothing worthy of death. But pressure from the chief priests and mob of people pressed him to relent and give in to their demands.

However, his statement to them is far from the truth.

Jesus was not crucified because of the demands of the priests. He is being crucified because of the sins of mankind, including Pontius Pilate.
Pilate is the reason Jesus died.
I am the reason Jesus died.
You are the reason Jesus died.

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:8

There may be those that believe Jesus did not die for them but that’s just not true. He died to save the sinner from sin.
He died to save the Buddhist from Buddha, the Muslim from Mohammed, and the atheist from himself!
Jesus died for you!

  1. Even after all these years of Jesus loving me It’s hard to understand His love. I just except it. And am so thankful for it. God Almighty does move on my behalf when I pray & trust Him even when on one else believes what I’m telling them. Example, I said, I’ll go with you but you have to know it’s wrong. Just a few miles from the house we had car trouble & had to cancel the trip. Other times God allows me to know what the out come of a thing will be. That’s when I walk right through the all the troubles & distractions. Reading His Word tells us the out come too. His love for us is unexplainable. We just need to except it!
