But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. Heb 10:3
Most of us look upon the New Year as a fresh start – a new beginning.
It’s a time personal change and hope to do better.
I don’t think any normal person plans to sin in the new year but as Gen 4:7 says, “sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you,”
Israel found out the persistence of sin. Every year the priest had to make atonement for that sin. The next year he did it again. And the next, and the next, and the next.
The people had no conscience of sin – no real desire to not sin.
God’s plan was for Jesus to come and with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Heb 9:12
Now there is no reminder of sins each year.
The blood of Christ is not a license to sin but freedom to not sin.
Jesus sets you free from the bondage and desire of sin for you!
So start the year with seeking God’s will for your life. His first and foremost desire for you is salvation. What a great way to start the year with accepting Jesus as your Savior and becoming a new you!
