‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ Matt 20:12
The story starts with a landowner hiring workers throughout the morning, midday, and late afternoon – all for the same amount.
The complaint came from those hired in morning and working the entire day. They felt mistreated since those hired in the late afternoon worked only an hour yet received equal pay.
Salvation is for everyone. Some accept Jesus early in life and some very late. Both enter the presence of the Lord.
Some receive forgiveness for lying, cheating, and coveting, while another get forgiveness for murder.
Is it unfair?
I don’t think it is. I am thrilled when anyone repents of any sin and receives Jesus as Savior.
But do you gripe and complain about inequality when someone gets treated differently than you in other places?
A coworker gets a day off and you don’t!
The teacher offers a school student an extra credit project but not yours!
I believe what the Bible says: Diverse weights and diverse measures, they are both alike, an abomination to the Lord. Prov 20:10
God delivers fairness.
Suppose for a moment, the worker hired in the morning impresses the landowner so much, he hires him permanently!
Pray, let go, and let God!
