Righteousness, justice, and sacrifice.

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Prov 21:3

Sacrifice is necessary to atone for sin.
Righteousness is lack of sin.
Justice is the evidence of righteousness.
People brought their sacrifice when they had sinned.
They brought sacrifice often because they sinned often.
It was a continual effort to atone for sin.
Righteousness and justice were present but became over shadowed by sin.

We don’t live in a world absent of sin. It is a world of unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; Rom 1:29-32
People are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. 2 Tim 3:2-5

The priests of old stood with sacrifice in hand to atone for sin.
The next day they stood again with sacrifice in hand to atone for sin again.
But Jesus brought Himself as the sacrifice to atone for sin. He no longer presents Himself as the sacrifice but now stands to make intercession.
Righteousness and justice are now present in the life of the believer because of what Jesus did.
