Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matt 6:8-13
Of course no graduation is complete without prayer.
The young lady that led asked all of us to stand, bow our heads, and close our eyes.
I found that very old school and very refreshing.
When you close your eyes in prayer you take your sight off of the world. It’s a very respectful way to pray.
Later another student led everyone in the Lord’s Prayer. I’m afraid most of us do not know it as well as we think.
It seemed almost everyone faltered on the same part.
It matters little if you know the Lord’s Prayer correctly or not. I don’t believe it matters whether your eyes are closed or open!
What is important is that prayer comes by faith and comes from the heart!
