The Greater Sin

Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin. John 19:11

Last time I wrote about a greater sin. Just for clarification I want to share a few things about this scripture.

Jesus said the words while standing before Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor in Israel at the time.
Pilate really did not want to condemn Jesus to death but eventually gave into the demands of the Jewish religious leadership. I don’t believe he committed this great sin of which Jesus made reference.

Pilate is a Roman! He knows nothing of Jewish ways.
However those that delivered Jesus to him were Jewish. Judas, the high priest, and members of the Sanhedrin – all know the prophecy of Messiah’s coming and Jesus did not fit into their idea of that Messiah.
He speaks of love, peace, redemption, and makes Himself equal to God. For the Jews that condemn Him – it’s blasphemy.
They seek a Messiah of power that could rid the land of Roman influence and return the kingdom back to Israel. (c. f. Acts 1:6)
Jesus stated earlier, “My kingdom is not of this world.” John 18:36

I declare to you that Jesus is the Messiah spoken of in Hebrew scripture. He is the fulfillment of the Prophesied One.
He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! There is no other to eternal life but through Him.
His death pays for your redemption. All you need do is accept it and live your life through Him.
You can no longer live for yourself. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Cor 6:20

Now that you know this, to reject Him as Savior is the greater sin! Don’t become guilty of it!
