How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! Ps 139:17
I often think about my wife during the day. I think of my children and grandchildren.
And, with the benefit of Facebook, I think about church members and friends.
I think about my coworkers.
And I think about God, or at least my relationship with Him.
I do not think about everyone at once and I do not dwell on most of them for very long.
In the process of thinking about others, my mind must focus on what I am doing.
So thinking about others is very limited throughout the day.
Nevertheless, I believe if I made an effort to keep up with my thoughts, I could tell you how many people I think about and how often. It’s not unlimited!
The Father thinks about me all the time. Not only me, but you too!
Those thoughts are not limited to a few seconds or a couple of minutes – they are constant.
When he wrote Psalm 139 concerning God thoughts toward him, David said, “If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.” Ps 139:18
God never stops thinking about you and me.
Even in death, Jesus thought about you and me.
In light of Psalm 139, the words of another song ring true – when He was on the cross, I was on His mind!
