Don't fret over a piece of chicken.

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Luke 12:22-23

Do you worry about what to eat or what to wear?
Worry is different from making plans! You must often plan a meal or an outfit to fit an occasion.
I have known people to worry about food, particularly if they were going to get a portion for themselves.
It doesn’t make sense to pout over not getting an extra piece of chicken when flood victims on the Gulf Coast are still putting their lives back together or while many mourn the loss of life caused by the earthquake in Mexico. And remember that many in Puerto Rico would be thankful for your leftovers.
And many of those mentioned have only the clothes on their back!
However, Jesus said life is more than food or clothing.
What would it profit you to gain the whole world, have all your needs met and still lose your soul in hell?
God knows you need food and clothing.
He also provided those things through His act of creation.
Granted, many have lost the knowledge and abilities to feed and clothe themselves from the land.
God still provides through miraculous acts and the benevolence of others.
His Spirit leads His people to give in times of need.
Often He provides an opportunity for you to gain knowledge that becomes a skill that turns into employment where you receive a paycheck and may purchase or barter your own food and clothing.
In all things, never forget to give God credit and remember the more important things in life lie in relationships with others and with God.
