Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 1 Peter 1:18-19
No amount of money can redeem you. It is only through the blood of Jesus.
I recall a part in the movie The Shack where Mac is struggling with forgiving the man that took his daughters life.
He said he wanted to hurt the man.
The character that played God said, “I know you do, but he is my son, too, and I want to redeem him.”
God is all about forgiveness and grace. He is about love and redemption. It comes at a price – the blood of His only Son.
God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) Through repentance you find redemption and salvation.
Redemption is non-transferable. I cannot give mine for you or you for me.
Redemption is not automatic. Just because Christ died for everyone does not mean that everyone is automatically covered.
An individual must come to Him by faith and believe in Him. It is your act of faith and God’s grace that brings the gift of salvation.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Eph 2:8
Salvation only happens to the living. It cannot take place after death. No dead person ever brought a sacrifice under the Law and no dead person is able to accept the sacrifice of Jesus.
If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, then accept Him into your heart and life today!
